2024 Snapshot Day Statistics

On Snapshot Day, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Wyoming’s more than 100 WYLD libraries:

  • Circulated  items, including  children’s items
  • Issued  new library cards
  • Added  items to their catalogs
  • Made  items available to Wyoming’s residents in their collections
  • Saw the WYLDcat statewide library catalog accessed by  users for  views and  searches

WYLD includes all Wyoming public and community college libraries as well as many school and special libraries.

In public libraries, from data collected annually by the Wyoming State Library, we estimate that on an average day there are:

  •  visits to public libraries
  •  people using a library computer
  •  reference questions answered
  •  children and teens attending programs
  •  meeting room uses
  •  wireless internet sessions

The GoWYLD.net electronic resources offer articles, e-books, e-audiobooks, e-magazines (including graphic novels!), scholarly sources, courses and tutorials, and much more. These are available to every Wyoming resident, 24 hours a day. On October 24, there were:

  •  visits to the GoWYLD.net A to Z databases list with 784 total views of the GoWYLD LibGuides —  different guides were accessed
  •  total digital checkouts by  unique users in the OverDrive/Libby Wyoming Virtual Library —  e-books,  e-audiobooks, and  e-magazines
  •  sessions and  pages viewed in CultureGrams
  •  sessions,  searches, and  retrievals in the Gale Databases 
  •  visits from  unique visitors in Driving-tests.org
  •  logins and  quizzes taken in Pronunciator Language Learning
  • LinkedIn Learning –  hours of LinkedIn Learning content viewed by  people who accessed  different courses using  videos
